DSOGaming: Shadow Warrior seemed unable to max out our quad-core and take advantage of all four CPU cores, which resulted in low-performance in various scenes. A simulated tri-core CPU was performing the same with a quad-core CPU. Is that due to a limitation of the API (DirectX)?

JP: We set dual core CPUs as our minimal requirements. Two threads (main and rendering) were running all the time. Additional threads were used for physics, sounds, streaming textures, calculating decals. The game was limited mainly by every single CPU frequency than by the number of cores.

KN: We have recently moved to job based engine architecture. Additionally we have optimized serial code paths and replaced DX9 with DX11, which has lower CPU overhead. Currently it scales much better and most of the time uses all available cores.

MS: In fact we are planning to release a new PC version of Shadow Warrior intended for 64bit processors (Windows 7 and up) that uses new version of our engine – you will be able to test it by yourselves. Our internal tests show a significant performance increase compared to the current PC 32bit version.

esses caras merecem palmas e seus jogos vendendo bastante. o jogo saiu faz um tempao mas vao lançar um update epico pro pc, aumentando desempenho.

Upcoming Shadow Warrior 64-bit update.

Grasshoppers!

We are happy to announce that the wait is soon to be over.
The 64-bit update for Shadow Warrior will hit Steam next week!

The new version of the game uses either a 32-bit or a 64-bit executable and DirectX11 for Windows Vista or later. This update should give the game a significant performance boost.

The previous version of Shadow Warrior, using DirectX9 will still work on Windows XP 32-bit systems - so don't be afraid that it stops running.

We have also included an additional bossfight with Zilla (be sure to check it out!) as well as some minor bugfixes.

I will let you know when the patch goes live.

eu tava quase no fim, quando meu HD morreu e tive q formatar

daí soube dessa noticia da versao nova e otimizada, acabei deixando pra recomeçar quando saisse o patch

só que demorou bastante rs

matar as hordas com a espada é bem loco, os graficos sao bons e as conversas entre o Lo e a espada são bem divertidas.

e o jogo é longuinho até.

só é meio dificil fazer as magias de ataque e cura e tal durante as batalhas. é tipo soltar golpe do Mortal Kombat, "lado lado gatilho".

I'm happy to announce that the next week's patch will also include a Mac and Linux version of Shadow Warrior!

Here are the requirements for both systems:

Mac

Minimum Requirements:
OS Version: OS X 10.9
CPU: 2.4GHz Dual core processor or higher.
GPU: HD Graphics 3000, GeForce 8600/8800/9600/120/130/Quadro FX 5600, Radeon HD 2400 or higher with 512mb of dedicated memory.
RAM: 2GB

Recommended Requirements:
OS Version: OS X 10.9
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 8200/AMD Phenom X4 9950 or higher.
GPU: Radeon HD 5670/5750/5770/6630/6750/6770/6970, GeForce 640/650/660/675/680/750/755/775/780, HD Graphics 5000/Iris or higher with 1.5gb+ of dedicated memory.

Linux

Minimum Requirements:

To check your game version: enable console (by pressing ctrl+~),(now write) _version and press Enter.

Shadow Warrior Patch Notes:

Shadow Warrior 1.5.0
- Available for Windows Vista/7/8 and above.
- Added Mac OS X and Linux support.
- Added additional bossfights with Zilla in chapters 13 and 16.
- Added ingame artbook.
- Added DirectX 11 based graphics.
- Added optimization for 32 & 64-bit build.
- Added optimization for SSAO.
- Added optimization for Mirror Effects.
- Fixed many gameplay bugs and minor level bugs.
- Fixed minor bugs for pad controls.
- Fixed minor localization bugs.
- Fixed rare crash when using alt-tab.
- Fixed rare Gozu crash.
- Fixed saving weapon fx's when using non standard katana.

Please note that version 1.5 is not available for Windows XP.

If you have already completed the game - In Shadow Warrior 1.5.0 only the initial save for each level will be available.
All your stats and upgrades will remain the same in the saves, but all your quicksaves and checkpoint saves will become unavailable.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but this was the only way to introduce gameplay changes.
